OUR EXPERTISE

DIAG METAL re-cutting

Restore worn gear teeth directly on site using a dedicated machining system developed and adapted by our R&D department to the specific characteristics of your equipment.

DIAG METAL re-machines the original tooth profile, taking into account the girth gear’s runout and tooth spacing to restore the required geometry. This service is suitable for gears used in rotary kilns, mills, dryers, granulators, calciners and other industrial equipment, without requiring the girth gear to be dismantled.

Intervention time: typically 5 to 15 days, depending on the size of the girth gear, including re-cutting and associated inspections.

Expertise and control

DIAG METAL carries out in-depth inspections of girth gears and pinions to assess their condition and identify the most appropriate maintenance solutions. This analysis covers tooth profile wear, runout, gear distortion, vibrations, tooth contact patterns and operating temperatures. Non-destructive testing (NDT) is also performed on girth gear and pinion teeth to detect potential cracks in the tooth area, particularly before scheduled re-cutting operations.

The objective is to provide customers with the technical information they need to make the best maintenance decisions, whether this involves gear tooth re-cutting, turning the girth gear around when its design allows, or replacing it.

Inspection

Manufacturing inspection and quality control of cast, forged, and welded assemblies intended for rotating equipments (mill heads, mill ends, girth gears, pinions, trunnions, and other critical components).

NDT

Non-Destructive Testing (PT, MT, UT) of components during manufacturing or maintenance, as well as thickness measurements, performed by Level 2 certified inspectors in accordance with EN ISO 9712.

Other Machining

On-site milling operations (forging tables, keyways, bearing surfaces, etc.), with or without weld build-up. On-site boring of diameters ranging from 60 to 350 mm. Small-batch machining of components in our workshop.
